New Hire Will Leverage Experience, Industry Connections to Grow School Segment

GARNER, N.C. - March 2020—Butterball, in order to further strengthen its commitment to K-12 foodservice, has hired Frank Samuelson as its new national business development manager.

In this position, Samuelson is responsible for leading commercial bid and commodity processing efforts, maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and driving sales volume. He also oversees internal processes to ensure adherence to USDA reprocessing guidelines and requirements, and supports development of innovative solutions to grow Butterball’s versatile product line.

“Today’s school foodservice operator not only demands the best possible quality products; they also value attributes like animal care, environmental stewardship and sustainability,” said Samuelson. “Butterball embraces all of those attributes, and we have built a very talented team that will deliver the quality that is synonymous with Butterball, along with the most recognized brand of turkey to students’ plates across the country.”

Samuelson has over 25 years of experience in the foodservice industry, with 18 of those spent in the poultry segment.  His expertise and connections with major school markets, state agencies and related industry partners will allow Butterball to gain greater exposure in this competitive segment.

“Frank brings a wealth of knowledge and a vast network of connections in the K-12 segment to Butterball,” said Richie Jenkins, Butterball senior director of business development/marketing. “This is an exciting time for new ideas and new leadership as we continue to develop a strong presence in the segment.”
