Turkey Burger Monte Cristo

Top a turkey burger patty with hand-sliced turkey breast and Gruyére cheese. Lay on slices of Texas toast spread with spiced raspberry jam, battered in savory egg custard and pan-fried.

of gruyere cheese

Directions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 400F . Place a turkey burger patty on an oven safe tray. Heat until the internal temperature reaches 165F, about 3-5 minutes.
  2. 2. Top the patty with slices of Gruyere cheese followed by turkey slices. Allow an additional minute to melt and prepare the Texas toast to build.
  3. 3. Spread the spiced raspberry jam evenly on the top layer of Texas toast.
  4. 4. Place the turkey burger, sliced turkey and Gruyere stack between the Texas toast and transfer to a plate.
  5. 5. Dust the top with powdered sugar.

Directions

  1. 1. Combine all ingredients and mix well.
  2. 2. Transfer to a covered container and refrigerate; allowing at least an hour to sit will help fl avors to develop.

Directions

  1. 1. Combine all ingredients except the bread in a small bowl and whisk thoroughly to break, ensuring all egg yolks are completely combined.
  2. 2. Using two pieces of Texas toast for each burger, dip each piece into the royale and then transfer to a wire rack to drain.
  3. 3. Place a nonstick pan over medium heat and add ¼ of the butter to the pan.
  4. 4. When the butter is melted and foamy, place a slice of soaked bread in the pan and cook for 3 minutes on each side.
  5. 5. Repeat until all of the bread is toasted.
