Bring a Taste of Home to the Bun
Every region of the United States has its own personality—from geography to accents to pastimes. Perhaps the most dynamic are the local flavors and foods of regions. It’s no surprise then that one of the big trends in foodservice is highlighting regional fare and flavors on your menus.
Regional American cuisine can feature all over your menu, but it might be best suited for burgers. With a basic grilled turkey burger patty, you can bring flavor from all across the country to your patrons.
Start with a signature dish or item from an area; like peaches with Georgia. Then adapt for your burger. Like creating a peach chutney, topping a turkey burger with it and adding peppers, cilantro and smoky provolone. Try these ideas, too:
- Carolina Turkey Burger: Top a cooked burger with honey BBQ sauce and Cheddar. Pile on a brioche bun with dijonnaise and Carolina-style coleslaw.
- Nor’easter Turkey Burger Combo: Serve a trio of minis—one with turkey burger and cranberry, one lobster roll, and one with a maple-glazed turkey burger.
- Chesapeake Turkey Burger: Add a scoop of blue-claw crab dip to your turkey burger with OLD BAY® Seasoning and shredded Cheddar.
- Tex-Mex Turkey Burger: Add black bean and corn salsa to a grilled burger with Cheddar Jack cheese and cilantro.
