- Not all solo diners want to sit at the bar or counter. Offer seating as you would to any party size.
- Read their body language. Solo diners may be looking to engage and have a conversation with their server, but they also might be dining alone to disengage and have some time to themselves.
- Avoid potentially embarrassing questions, like “Who are you waiting for?” or “Just one?”
