Drive Traffic with Globally Inspired Sandwiches

Drive Traffic with Globally Inspired Sandwiches

Sandwiches are a go-to for most Americans, but today’s consumers are craving something extra special. While 55% purchase this classic menu staple away from home at least once a week, 46% say they’re making sandwiches at home more often now than before the COVID-19 pandemic began.

To drive traffic to your operation, it’s important to serve on-trend offerings that diners can’t simply recreate in their own kitchens—like more adventurous options. Globally inspired sandwiches in particular are appealing to 31% of all consumers and 34% of consumers 18–34.

Use these recipe ideas to take diners on a taste tour with sandwiches:

  • Kimchi Turkey Burger: This Korean-inspired twist on a classic is sure to satisfy, as kimchi is an increasingly popular topping for a burger—which happens to be the most popular type of sandwich.
  • Moo Shu-Inspired Hot Honey Meatball Wrap: 45% of consumers find sweet heat appealing. With a delicious combination of honey and spice—plus a Chinese twist—this wrap checks all the boxes for adventurous eaters.
  • Turkey Banh Mi: This simplified take on a Vietnamese sandwich makes a great addition to kids’ menus, especially since 50% of parents recently reported that their children also enjoy ethnic cuisines.
  • Turkey Sandwich Italiano: When asked about global sandwich preferences, Italy is a top destination for inspiration. More than 50% of diners say they’d consider ordering Italian, and this sandwich starring turkey breast, parmesan and marinara makes a delicious pick.
